  1. I attempted to make banana's foster - but I grossly over cooked the bananas and it turned into sweetened mushed banana mush. To my credit my parents made me light the dish on fire several times because they thought it was fascinating so that is one of the reasons why it cooked so long , the other being we didn't have a lighter and the matches were in the other part of the house and took awhile to locate while the banana's continued to cook. Overall, its a need to try again recipe. Great potential just not well executed. MY fault!

A wonderful 100% Missourian lunch, BLT with goat cheese, everything coming from within 50 miles of columbia, its a wonderful lunch to indulge in after visiting the farmers market. The tomatoes were accidently squished on the way home-- I was blamed though I had not been in charge of packing the groceries into the car. So I made a gallant decision to pretend that they hadn't been pre sat on and sliced and served them like they were royalty.

Leek soup, its a family tradition and main stay in my families book of recipes. The origins of it can not be remember but it might of originated from a food magazine in the 80's. My mother claims she started making it after she planted leeks in the garden one year but my father claims she planted leeks in the garden to make the soup. Never the less its great and homely. Peppered bacon was used in this batch which gave it a nice spice warmth at the end.
